Town Planning

In Western Australia the need for Development (or Town Planning) Approval is legislated under the Planning & Development Act 2005 and the Planning & Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015. The approval, if required, needs to be granted before a Building Permit will be issued for any works and normally this would be left to the owner to organise.

Development Approval is the first step in our approvals management process, and we believe works hand-in-hand with both our drafting & design and building certification services. Our consultants manage all scales of statutory development approvals from basic residential design code design principle submissions to more complex change of use applications and everything in between. Generally, town planning approvals are organised in-house, however, where more complex analysis due diligence or negotiation is required, we have an expert master town planner to step in!

All projects that are designed through our team are assessed to identify if a formal Development Approval is required, highlighted with the Client and where the design is not amended formal submission is developed by the team and lodged with the local government authority for approval.

Our Town Planning Services include…

→ Residential Design Code (R-Code) Assessments & Justification Letters/Reports

→ Deviation from Local Development Plan (LDP) Submissions

→ Deviation from Local Planning Policies Submissions

→ Change of Use (Commercial) Applications
